One Mission.
Hi, I'm John Shapiro. Since 2004, I've been a full-time music instructor and music school owner, teaching adults and kids out of my professional studio in the West Highlands neighborhood of Denver, Colorado.
I'm a "master" music teacher with over 22,000 hours teaching private lessons. I've been playing, studying, recording, writing and performing music for over 40 years. I hold a BA in Music from Naropa University and also studied at Berklee College of Music and CU-Boulder.
My teaching style focuses on building self-sufficiency, understanding "the why" behind what we're doing, and working through stuck places - both musically and personally. I teach in person lessons and live video Zoom lessons for anyone, anywhere in the world.
My students regularly say that I'm patient, kind and intuitive... I teach in down-to-earth and engaging ways... And they learn more in a shorter time than they ever thought possible.
